Our compassionate caregivers deliver the practical and emotional care a family deserves throughout the hospice experience.
Similar to palliative care, hospice care focuses on ensuring a person’s comfort while suffering from a life-limiting or terminal illness. However, while palliative care’s aim is to maintain the highest quality of life possible while undergoing treatment, counselling, and other avenues, hospice care focuses on quality of life when recovery is no longer possible, and treatment is for pain and symptom management rather than curative methods.
Hospice care focuses on the care, comfort, and quality of life of a person with a serious illness who is approaching the end of life. It may not be possible to cure a serious illness, or a patient may choose not to undergo certain treatments, and hospice care is designed to support the patient during this time by managing pain and symptoms as well as improving quality of life as much as possible through supplementary treatments such as for anxiety, blood pressure, grief support, and more.
